Cabinet installation

The core of what we do, and the reason most people call.

Cabinets are made square. Houses are not. The whole craft is reconciling those two facts so the finished run looks like it grew there.

That means laying out to a level reference line rather than the floor, scribing filler to the wall that exists, shimming so doors and drawers align across the whole run, and setting crown so it reads straight even when the ceiling is not.

Boxes

Base, wall, tall and island cabinetry, set and fastened to structure.

Scribe & shim

Filler scribed to out-of-plumb and bowed walls. Shimmed level across the run, not per cabinet.

Trim

Crown, light rail, toe kick and filler, mitred and returned.

Panels

Appliance, end and island panels. Dishwasher and refrigerator surrounds.

Hardware

Pulls, knobs, soft-close adjustment and final door alignment.

Tear-out

Removal and disposal of existing cabinetry where needed.

We set the cabinets ourselves and coordinate the rest — countertops through our fabricator, tile, flooring, trim and paint, with licensed plumbers for anything that carries water.

Bathrooms

Smaller rooms, less forgiving.

Every cut is visible from three feet away and water finds anything done carelessly. Bathrooms are where careful work shows, and where sloppy work shows faster.

Vanities and linen cabinetry are the same craft as a kitchen at a tighter tolerance. Tile, tops and fixtures follow, with licensed plumbers on the wet work.

Install labour only, not the cabinets themselves. Scribe-heavy layouts, soffits, glass units and appliance panels take longer and are quoted accordingly — which is why we measure before we quote.

Common questions

How much does cabinet installation cost?

Install labour typically runs $50-$70 per linear foot, so a 30-40 linear foot kitchen is roughly $1,500-$2,800 to install. Removal of existing cabinets, appliance panels and heavy scribe work are quoted on top.

Will you install cabinets I bought from a big box store?

Yes. We install stock, semi-custom and custom cabinetry regardless of where it came from.

Do you work for cabinet companies and builders?

Yes. Subcontract installation is a regular part of our work. If you need a crew that turns up on schedule and does not generate punch-list items, get in touch.

What if my walls are out of plumb?

Most are. That is what scribing and shimming are for. We allow for it in the quote rather than discovering it on install day.

How long does a kitchen cabinet install take?

A typical kitchen is 2-4 days for a two-person crew, depending on box count and complexity. Larger or more complex layouts take longer and we will say so up front.

Do you do the whole kitchen or only the cabinets?

Either. Cabinet installation is the core of what we do, and we can coordinate the countertops, tile, flooring and plumbing around it if you would rather one company handled the room.
